Bottle Scout uses lightweight first-party analytics to understand traffic, popular searches, page visits, referring sources, device type, approximate geography, and outbound retailer clicks. This helps improve coverage and make the site more useful.

Analytics may include an anonymous browser session identifier stored in local storage, approximate page and search activity, referrer information, basic device/browser details, and IP-derived location or hashed visitor identifiers. Bottle Scout does not sell products, process payments, or collect payment information.

Bottle Scout may use approximate IP location to choose a default metro area. If you enter a ZIP code or allow browser location, that location preference is stored locally in your browser so nearby retailers can be ranked more usefully.
